Ares Destiny is loaded with problems

Filed Under (general) by Laura on 31-10-2008

Dealio is a rather aggressive and very nasty piece of adware that infects your computer when you are least expecting it; unfortunately some people offering useful software decide that it will be better packaged with adware such as Dealio.

Ares Destiny is one such piece of useful software tainted by the color of this nasty disease.

And I didn’t realize until too late.

The first thing that you will likely notice about Ares Destiny is that the website is clean and professional looking; the next thing will be that it is entirely free of cost; the third that the download process works quickly and the fourth that the installation process is surprisingly painless. So far so good, you may be thinking.

And indeed that is what I thought. Even to the point where I was downloading and sharing music with others all over the world. I’d seen other versions of Ares around but Ares Destiny was the first one I’d notice that was free. I’d even started to recommend Ares Destiny to some of my friends.

Oh dear: what a mistake. It was only after a while that I noticed the popups ads appearing all over my computer. It was a little while after that that I tied these popups to Dealio which in turn I managed to tie to Ares Destiny. This is definitely no longer on my recommended software list.

Try the new fab the Acai berry

Acai and the anti-aging diet

Acai is a Brazilian berry original from the Amazon Region that is considered to be one of nature’s most complete and healthy foods. The acai berry is loaded with antioxidants, amino acids, essential omegas, fibers and protein. Some of the health benefits associated with the acai berry are: increase in sustained energy, help with healthy cholesterol management, improvement of digestive system, strengthening immune system, among others. Oprah’s website described acai as “one of the most nutritious and powerful foods in the world…”, while the book, The Perricone Promise, calls it the “nature’s perfect energy fruit.” over at www.tangent.com.

People everywhere are looking for answers to the problems of aging — not only its outward manifestations, like wrinkles, but also the physical and mental ones as well. Doctors of every kind recommend the obvious lifestyle changes like more exercises and a healthier diet, but many are starting to recommend very specific foods with very specific properties, with acai topping list.

In an article written for the popular online health resource Webmd.com, Kathleen M. Zelman (and reviewed by Louise Chang, MD), talks about the power of foods which have antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties to stave off the onset or effects of illnesses like heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis, and even Alzheimer’s. The fact that as we get older, our bodies are more and more susceptible to the long-term effects of “oxidative stress” and cellular inflammation makes foods with the properties to fight these effects the most attractive for people looking to age well.

Citing Dr. Nicholas Perricone, she relays that the foods that are rich in antioxidants and are anti-inflammatory, are things like cold-water fish and richly-colored fruits and vegetables. Dr. Perricone, as we have discussed in previous posts, provided a list of ten “super foods” chosen for their ability to fight off the effects of age — the acai fruit is at the very top of the list, topping all vegetables, nuts and seeds as the best food you can get with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits.

While this confirms what we already knew, it’s always refreshing to see people who are health advocates and experts echo what we have been telling our customers and people in general: that acai is an incredible food to eat for energy, fiber, and for its rich content of omega acids and anti-oxidants. It truly is nature’s super food, and we are so glad to be able to bring it to you in a way that is sure to transmit those healthy benefits. If you are new to our site and blog, check out all of the acai products we have, including acai powder, freeze dried acai, and acai supplements and get with the acai roots lifestyle!

Nobu just released a new inwall touchscreen computer that will be shipping by mid-December. The unit features a 1.0GHz fanless Intel processor, a revolutionary 4GB solid state disk drive.

Here is an excerp from the folks from Nobu:

The new 8″ panel is a fully functional inwall touchscreen PC with all necessary input/output ports to control any subsystem or automation hardware in your home or office. Our goal with the new design is to satisfy a large demand for a smaller inwall touchpanel as well as to create the most robust, powerful, and visually appealing touchscreen computer on the planet. We designed the N8 without a fan because we wanted to eliminate noise and also to eliminate possible points of failure which is also why we will offer the high performance industrial Embedded Disk Card (iEDC) hard drive as an alternative to a standard 5400RMP hard drive. The N8 touchscreen PC will have a fanless 1.0 GHz Intel Celeron M processor. The N8 will be available with Windows XP Professional. We can also sell the N8 without an operating system for special applications.

Sarah Palin won Miss Wasilla Pageant

Filed Under (general) by Laura on 22-10-2008

Sarah Palin has very suddenly become very famous. If you take a look at her quite astonishing life it is easy to see why. It could be said that Sarah Palin’s rise to fame has been inexorable; certainly she has worked very hard at every point in her life.

With five children to look after while she deals with her ‘day job’ of being Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin is a self-confessed hockey mum with a can-do attitude. She is deeply religious – describing herself in an interview as being a Bible believing Christian – and this seems to have polarized people’s opinions on her.

Sarah’s illustrious career as a leader begin in Wasilla where she went to high school; she captained to the girls’ basketball team to success in a schools tournament and earned the nickname “Sarah Barracuda” because of her aggressive attitude and playing style.

At college and University Sarah Palin entered – and won – the Miss Wasillia pageant. Fitting, then, that she went on to be Mayor of that city. She also entered the Miss Alaska pageant, coming a respectable third.

After she finished her studying, Sarah went on to become a sportscaster for KTUU-TV in Anchorage, Alaska, and helped with her husband’s – Todd Palin – commercial fishing business.

I really love to fileshare, and I’m genuinely interested in the who subject.. Just reading about the latest machinations of the RIAA and her lapdogs makes me quite excited. I like hearing about the latest software releases and the latest trends. I love to hear news about Ares Vista and to download Ares Vista when a new version arrives. Is Wealth Masters International for you?

Filed Under (general) by Laura on 21-10-2008

Reading around a good selection of sites before you jump into something like Wealth Masters International is not only a good idea, it is essential. The ease with which you will find information on the program will be very much better than the ease with which you find useful information. The fact is there are a lot of people on the net who have a vested interested in either promoting or sending down Wealth Masters International, and it may not be at all clear whether you have found one of these or a genuine review.

Wealth Masters International is by its very nature something that will be promoted heavily on the Internet by people who want you to spend your money; they have no particular interest in the benefits that you will derive from Wealth Masters International, nor on the particular merits – and demerits – of its application to your situation.

Weeding the good reviews from the bad is very difficult task and, if I’m honest, you might just have to start using your instincts. The more research the better, of course, as you are more likely to get a faithful picture of how Wealth Masters International will suit you.

This is not an easy decision to make so make sure you do yourself a favor.

Think and Grow Rich is an excellent book

Filed Under (general) by Laura on 16-10-2008

My husband is lucky enough to work in the network marketing industry. He loves his job as it means he gets to spend a lot more time with me and the kids, working the hours he chooses and working for himself. He started the business in selling personal development products three months ago. To be honest, I was a little dubious when it started as to the value of the things he was selling. I was never sure how a course or book could make me a better person; there’s a fine line between being cynical, though, and bashing someone’s hopes and desires.

So perhaps he was of the opinion that I might be converted when he bought me Hill’s Think and Grow Rich for Christmas. “Thanks!” I said, though what I meant was “I’d have preferred a watch!”. I really did try to read Think and Grow Rich but it wasn’t for me – I did not have the Think and Grow Rich mindset.

Skip to a few months down the line and I picked Think and Grow Rich up again, mainly through guilt. I skimmed the content list to see if there was anything that would particularly catch my eye, and there it was. Chapter 11: the Mystery of Sex Transmutation. Wow. Here I go.

There are loads of iPhone Accessories

Filed Under (general) by Laura on 14-10-2008

Apple are the absolute undisputed kings of marketing. Of this there is no doubt. They consider that their customers – or potential customers – have essentially got bottomless pockets from which to draw money. They are usually right.

One example of this method of selling expensive things to people who didn’t actually know that they needed said expensive thing is in the booming sale of iPhone accessories. The accessories range from the incredibly useful to the really, really, silly (and useless). Some iPhone accessories are made by Apple while others are from any4 number of manufacturers who want to cash in on the iPhone boom.

One of the better iPhone accessories that I have found (and in fact own) are the Bose headphones. When something is designed and manufactured by Bose you know it is going to be a quality piece of engineering. These headphones are no different and are fairly high in my list of favorite ever iPhone accessories!

Some of the other better iPhone accessories include simple cases and Bluetooth headsets. These are not in any way exciting but they do make your life as an iPhone owner a lot easier. If you are ever considering phoning a friend from your car whilst driving, then doing it with a Bluetooth headset is the most comfortable and the safest way to do so.

Embrace the concept of free music downloads

Filed Under (general) by Laura on 12-10-2008

With companies dedicated to providing free music downloads legally appearing on an almost daily basis, it is clear that something is changing in the music industry. That something is free music downloads, and it is threatening wholesale the traditional market models that senior executives, shareholders and chairmen know and love. It is understandable that the drive to a new area is making them uneasy.

The industry is currently experiencing a huge dark patch when it comes to sales and income. That income is being transferred to proactive and forward thinking companies like We7, Spiral Frog and even Sony who are wholeheartedly embracing the change as a Good Thing. Which it is. The evidence that it is a good thing can come no stronger than the explicit endorsement by the bands themselves: Radiohead, Coldplay and Nine Inch Nails are all popular groups that, at some point or other, have made substantial portions (or all) of their recordings available for fans as free music downloads.

The cold, hard truth for those companies and organizations that are resisting this change (and there are quite a few of them) is that free music downloads are here to stay. Deal with it whichever way is best, but you cannot afford to stick your head in the sand.

The google Android will roll out soon!

Filed Under (general) by Laura on 11-10-2008

The Google gPhone is nearly here: this is a T Mobile G1 handset that runs Google’s Android system. The handset has all the hallmarks of a Ultra Mobile PC, including a fully QWERTY keyboard and a track ball. If the iPhone is sexy without practicality then the Google gPhone is just the opposite. If it is trying to compete with the iPhone in the “desirable fashion statement” market then it is doomed to lose. It might just come through on practicality, though, so if it can compete for that slice of the market then it may stand much more of a winning chance. It’s also going to be a hell of a lot cheaper, which could well open it up to yet another market: the iPhone wannabes.

The Android platform will allow gPhone users to access most of Google’s suite of web apps and web properties. This includes YouTube, Google Maps and all of Google’s communication software.

As I alluded to earlier this really is not a sexy piece of kit, and if you were hoping for a step up from the iPhone then I’m afraid that the T Mobile G1 is just not there yet.

Rollout will begin in the States shortly.
