Length Of A ‘Standard’ Salvia Trip

I often hear discussions about Salvia, about Salvia trips, and about the length of these trips. People say to me: ‘how long does a Sally D trip last’? The question is a difficult one to answer. Quite simply, the answer is ‘it depends’.

The major part of the trip — the hallucinating phase — is very quick indeed. If you’re thinking of around 5 or 6 minutes then you won’t be far off. The after effects last a little longer but they are still gone pretty quickly, really. A total of 15 to 20 minutes will see you completely back to normal after a Salvia trip, I would say.

As to how long your trip appears to you to last, then that’s even more difficult. Sometimes you may not even realise that you have tripped out. Other times it may seem that you’ve spent hours on the astral plane. How’s that for value for money? The thing about a Sally D trip is that it distorts reality. Whatever you thought you knew may be challenged. Even the way in which you think about those things may be challenged! Now that’s getting deep. Included in this distortion of your ‘traditional’ perceptions is your idea of what time means.

See you on the other side! Here’s to Salvia!
